THE VENUS PROJECT
“There are many temporary alterative solutions that improve the current ecological situation but do not address the larger long term global condition. To guarantee a prospect for future generations, there needs to be a long-term solution that will produce a positive reconstructive response to the current ecological crisis.”
What if a solution existed? What if there was a feasible answer which redesigned the current inefficient system built on excess and waste and replace it with on that was sustainable?
American futurist and social engineer, Jacque Fresco, founded “The Venus Project” in 1995 in Venus, Florid. The Venus Project is an organization that proposes an exigent long-term solution to the current ecological dilemma. This project "proposes a feasible plan of action for social change, one that works toward a peaceful and sustainable global civilization" (Fresco, "The Venus Project"). The Venus moment is categorized as a 21th century socioeconomic cooperative movement that advocates shared wealth, scientific advancement, global peace, and environmental protection. 
Fresco and his wife Roxanne Meadows, along with several other engineers and architects, have made it their lifelong quest to design the blueprints for their vision of a resource based sustainable world. The key to the future rest in the choices we as citizens choose to make, the future can either be a paradise or an era of extinction. If the globe joins together and alters the consciousness to one that respects the planet, only then will we know what it means to be a truly civilized society.
